Aaron Kleiber’s ‘Grown @%$ Dad’ Comedy Special Premiers on Amazon Prime Video
Pittsburgh’s top comic’s special on now available on streaming service
Comedian, actor and Steel Valley native Aaron Kleiber, has announced that his new comedy special, “Grown @%$ Dad” is available now on Amazon Prime Video. The audio album will also be released on iTunes and Pandora. The special was filmed in front of a live audience at the Carnegie Library of Homestead. Produced by Animal Inc. and Directed by Michael Killen, co-creator of ABC’s “Downward Dog,” the special used entirely local talent and crew.
Kleiber is raising his family in Pittsburgh while building his comedy career, taking his act national, touring with comedy legends Bob Saget, Jim Breuer, John Witherspoon and Harland Williams. Aaron has performed on Gotham Comedy Live, NUVO TV and along with guest starring roles on Nickelodeon, CBS and Showtime along with an upcoming Warner Bros. feature.
“Grown @%$ Dad” was scheduled to be released for Father’s Day 2020, but Kleiber and Killen decided to push up the release because they agreed that “everyone could use a laugh right now.”
“Going from performing all over the country to zero gigs, zero income and supporting a family of five, really knocked the wind out of us. It’s a weird, uncertain time,” said Kleiber. “When all you know is making people laugh, the only thing I could do was connect with friends and fans via daily Livestreams. People started asking about my comedy special so we decided to make it happen ASAP. I’m excited to offer some sliver of joy and laughter while we’re all home, a chance to relax and feel together during this tough time.”
Animal is a creative production company that has produced hundreds of commercials and many successful films. Animal’s work includes the Sundance Award-winning “Blood Brother,” as well as, “Almost Holy,” which debuted at The TriBeca Film Festival and was released theatrically in 2016. Animal’s first TV series, “Downward Dog,” debuted on ABC in 2017.
“Aaron’s career is proof you don’t have to be in New York or Los Angeles to find great success in the entertainment industry,” said Michael Killen, director of Kleiber’s comedy special. “Everyone at Animal knows that our city is a hotbed of creative talent and we are proud to bring Aaron’s voice – a Pittsburgh voice – to an international audience.”
The special is free to Amazon Prime Video subscribers and can be rented for $2.99 or purchased by digital download for $9.99. Audio album downloads will be available soon on iTunes, Amazon Music and Target Music -- as well as -- available on Pandora, Spotify, I Heart Radio, and Tidal streaming services.

About Aaron Kleiber
Aaron Kleiber has been entertaining his entire life — from climbing atop his grandmother’s coffee table as a child and being voted class clown in high school, to ‘acting’ in front of a camera and taking the stage at comedy clubs across North America today.
Began his entertainment career producing, performing and writing indie films with high school friend Chris Preksta (Echo Torch, Pittsburgh Dad), garnering multiple film festival appearances and awards. A short stint at Second City, Chicago and the birth of his first daughter, led him to stay in Pittsburgh and try the ‘solo sport’ of stand-up comedy in 2009. In the same year, in his first two studio feature films, ‘Help Me, Help You’ opposite Sabrina Bryan (Cheetah Girls, Dancing with the Stars) and ‘Warrior’ for Lionsgate and director Gavin O’Connor.
Kleiber made his nationally-televised stand-up debut on 'Gotham Comedy Live' in 2013, in which his set was used as part of it's 'Best of Season 2' episode. Shortly thereafter he made his second on 'Standup and Deliver' on NUVO TV, filmed live during the Cabo Comedy Festival. Kleiber was named a top 5 finalist in the 2014 Big Sky Comedy Festival and appeared twice at industry favorite Limestone Comedy Festival. When out west, he is a regular at the Hollywood Improv, Comedy & Magic Club of Hermosa Beach and Jimmy Kimmel’s Comedy Club in Las Vegas. His podcast, with over 190 episodes, ‘Grown Dad Business’ has been streamed over a million times and can be heard on iTunes and everywhere else you listen to podcasts.
A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Aaron has been a fixture in the city's booming comedy scene for the last decade; producing and performing hundreds of shows in the area, including the Pittsburgh Improv, selling out multiple headline shows, and Arcade Comedy Theater, where he served as stand-up programmer for 5 years. PITTSBURGH CITY PAPER REVIEW, January 2007: "A Great Disturbance"
Simply filming the 2005 Star Wars Celebration in Indianapolis would be too easy. Instead, this locally produced mockumentary from Ben Shull and Andy Davis* trains cameras on five attendees, actors portraying achetypes of Star Wars fandom: the not-so-funny tech guy, the underdeveloped nerd, the intense game-player and two pals who wouldn’t mind meeting girls. This hybrid from of documentary and gentle comic tweaking works perfectly: Our ringers interact freely with the zillions of other stormtroopers and Jedi. But the laughs don’t come from the fans, however silly they may appear. Our guys are far too busy making fools of themselves – not because they are Star Wars fans, but because they’re sympathetic flawed human beings we recognize. It’s a tricky sort of dead-pan comedy that’s hard to pull off, but the Disturbance gang do a bang-up job with this well-acted and professionally made film. Fan bonus: Attend the screening in a Star Wars costume, and get a free DVD of the film. To be screened via video projection. 7pm Mon Jan 15 loews waterfront. 10 dollars.
